Hey, this is the build ive used the most for pvp, it does work in open world to. its a pure glass cannon build. So if you see a zerg.. run like like forrest gump
It has insane amounts of burst that will melt away pretty much anyone, exept bunker guardians and ofc anoying warriors.
I use utillity goggles for fury and vuln stacking from the toolbelt skill. but what will make you giggle is the fact that those pesky thiefs are NO problem. since it gives you immunity to blind and makes the thief unable to stealth. most thiefs dont have the skills to clense this before your burst made them a little slimey puddle on the ground. also very effective against mesmers.
Use the gear shield to block rangers pewpew skill number 2
and blow up your turrets for some cc.
and since we pretty much always crits and have a long range from the rifle, we auto attack from a distance until we can do another burst. the toolbelt skill for rifle turret has a very low cooldown and could/should be used as soon as its ready. it can be shot when you have stun/knockback etc. blunderbuss and jumpshot also gives inse amount of dmg.
initial rotation should look like this- start with Toolkit
Utility goggles - magnet- prybar - (switch to rifle) Analyze - Throw wrench - surprise shot - Blunderbuss - Jumpshot - overcharged shot.. autoattack
this will kill pretty much anything that isnt a bunker build or celestial (unfortunatly, everyone plays celestial in pvp now)
This is a easy to play, and really straight forward. i would say this has the highest amount of burst dps the engi can provide. but stay away from hambo warriors, keep your distance and play smart.
You dont see this build very often anymore in spvp. more in WvW. but it does work and its a lot of fun to play.
EDIT*
For WvW i mix in some Knight parts, 4 knight parts and 2 zerker parts. this is how ever up to personal preference. more knight. less dmg but more survivability.. more for roaming, but toss in the flamethrower for more bags.
switch out the utility goggles for elexir gun for a stunbreaker and means to move around in a fight and also to some nice dmg with skill 4 (acid bomb)
however, if you see a thief or a mesmer, switch back to utillity goggles and MELT THEM SUCKAZ!!!
In WvW i use this build. (but you can pretty much switch out a few points in what traitline you prefer, for more power, hp or thoughness.) food is personal preferance.. i use whatever to up my precision and power

SD is fun and potent against most classes if you learn to play it, BUT conditions can hurt, especially those pesky necros.. and as usual, watch out for retaliation and other engis =)
Video capuring isnt my thing.. so this is what you get.. tried to show of the burst in a slow manner and how it could look in the initial burt
